Knowing Which Treatment Options are Right for You

Inpatient vs. Outpatient
Which is Right for Me?

Inpatient and outpatient programs have their pros and cons. If you’re ready for more intensive treatment, inpatient rehab can be a good option. If you need more flexibility in terms of scheduling or finances, outpatient treatment may be better suited to your needs. The best thing is to determine which option is right for your situation by speaking with a counselor at an addiction treatment center near you.

The most common type of rehab program consists of both inpatient and outpatient services; this is known as dual diagnosis rehabilitation because it provides resources for those struggling with mental health problems along with substance abuse issues. Dual diagnosis programs are ideal if you need help managing both conditions at once—for instance, if anxiety keeps getting in the way of your recovery process or depression makes it hard to maintain abstinence from drugs or alcohol.
