Continuum of Care: What to Expect with Our New Castle Addiction Treatment

At our New Castle drug and alcohol rehab center, we provide a full continuum of care. The continuum of care defines multiple levels of treatment, each of which is intended to serve as a stepping stone for the next. This step-down approach provides clients the opportunity to move back and forth as necessary, with options for comprehensive, full-time care and less demanding, part-time care.

The most comprehensive level of care is residential or inpatient. With this type of substance abuse treatment in New Castle, you reside full-time at our facility. During the day, you’ll participate in a structured schedule of individual and group therapy sessions, including evidence-based practices and evidence-based holistic care like our equine program. Your meals are provided for you, and the cost of treatment covers room and board.

Residential New Castle addiction treatment is intended for people who have severe addictions and need medication-assisted treatment for detox, cannot take care of themselves or maintain independence, or simply want to extricate themselves from their daily lives and reside full-time at our New Castle rehab center.

For those who can’t live full-time over the span of several months at our facility or who have completed a residential program, we offer partial hospitalization programs at our New Castle drug and alcohol rehab center.

Partial hospitalization programs are alternative drug and alcohol rehab plans that have been around since the 1960s. They were originally designed as mental health plans providing clients with the therapy and medication management they needed during the day while allowing those same clients to go home to their families at night.

Today these programs remain a popular option for those struggling with addiction or mental health conditions for the same reason. With partial hospitalization programs, you come to New Castle drug and alcohol rehab center almost every day of the week and participate in a structured schedule of individual and group therapy sessions on a full-time basis. Lunch is provided for you, but you are responsible for the other meals and your transportation to and from our facility.

The next level of care for substance abuse treatment in New Castle is an intensive outpatient program. This is an equally viable alternative to residential care, but it takes place over a longer period compared to partial hospitalization programs. Partial hospitalization programs might meet for two or three weeks, whereas an IOP might have you participating in sessions at our New Castle rehab center for several weeks or months.

This type of program requires a part-time commitment, so it’s better for people who can’t necessarily dedicate an entire day, every day of the week, to their treatment.

Outpatient care is the least demanding form of substance abuse treatment in New Castle. With our outpatient programs, you can still participate in group therapy sessions and other support group sessions but often meet for only a few hours per week. As you transition into outpatient care, you will likely participate in sessions held at the New Castle drug and alcohol rehab center as well as support groups in your local area.

Which Level of Care to Choose

When you reach out to our New Castle drug and alcohol rehab center, you might not know what level of care is right. There are some ways you can narrow down the potential programs but rest assured that our admissions team will help you navigate this process when you call.

You should also consider the severity of your condition or that of someone you love. If you are at risk for dangerous withdrawal symptoms, you will need to start with our MAT or detox services, where you will receive constant monitoring or have access to a team of medical professionals throughout your withdrawal.

Each of our programs requires commitment and structure. This means you have to get yourself to and from the facility for a PHP or IOP. If you can’t do that, you might need to consider an alternative program, such as our residential level of care, first.

You are also responsible for self-regulating any medications you might be prescribed for addiction or mental health disorders.

Our programs require a commitment to a full-time schedule of group and individual therapy sessions or a part-time schedule, depending on the level of care you choose. If you aren’t able or are unwilling to commit to full-time participation or to the level of intensity offered, you can opt for IOPs or outpatient programs.

No matter which of these you choose, you can expect access to a range of services, including:

  • Medication-assisted treatment
  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Equine therapy
  • Relapse prevention
  • Nutritional and wellness coaching

Nutrition and Wellness

Our other premier services include our nutrition and Wellness program. Individuals struggling with substance abuse or co-occurring mental health disorders are more likely to eat poorly, sleep poorly, and exercise on an irregular basis. All of these factors contribute to things like:

  • Reduced immune function
  • Poor sleep quality
  • Bad hormone balances
  • Mood swings

Our nutrition and wellness program focuses on the benefits of eating healthy and staying hydrated so that you can increase your energy. Increased energy makes it easier to get through a full day of treatment while also having the stamina to focus on physical activity. Our program encourages you to strengthen your immune system so that you’re in a better position to fight infections and combat withdrawal symptoms. An increased focus on nutrition and wellness boosts your mood and prevents things like irritability, depression, and anxiety, all of which are detrimental to successful treatment.

Substance Abuse Treatment in New Castle: Our Aftercare and Sober Living Support

We know that addiction and mental health disorders aren’t “fixed” or “cured” after rehab, no matter which program you choose. That is why we continue to provide support in the form of our aftercare and sober living programs.

With our substance abuse treatment in New Castle, you receive ongoing support in the form of alumni programs. Participation in aftercare programs gives clients a higher chance of long-term success and a lower risk of relapse.

When you leave our Newcastle rehab center, you can still participate in things like:

  • Alumni group meetings or activities
  • Outside support groups in your area, especially things like NA or AA meetings
  • Return visits to our New Castle drug and alcohol rehab center

We also facilitate sober living options for those who need a safe place to reside after treatment. Sober living facilities are shared living environments with other individuals who have also completed their substance abuse treatment in New Castle. Sober living homes encourage ongoing sobriety with required group meetings. In and around those group meetings, you have to follow a few house rules, but other than that, you are given the freedom to rebuild your life with a new job, go back to school, or socialize with friends and family.
