How Much Does Rehab Cost?

One of the first questions that you might have about rehab is how much it costs. There’s not one set answer. The costs of treatment for addiction vary depending on:

  • Whether you’re going to inpatient or outpatient rehab.
  • Your medical and mental health needs.
  • The location of the treatment center.
  • Amenities at the center.
  • The length of your treatment plan.

There are a lot of options to cover these costs, though. One is insurance, including if you have Anthem. You can also use payment plans or financing options.

Contact the Cedar Oaks Wellness Center team, and we can provide you with more information about paying for life-saving addiction treatment.

The Anthem Company

When answering the question “does Anthem cover drug rehab,” there are a few major considerations. The biggest one is your specific plan and the center where you plan to receive treatment.

The Anthem company provides many health care plans and related services.

The three general categories that an Anthem coverage plan could fall into are:

  • Bronze: These plans are considered the cheapest monthly because the premiums are the lowest. With that comes a trade-off—the deductibles and co-pays are also the highest. If you have a Bronze Anthem plan, you might expect that around 60% of your treatment costs will be covered.
  • Silver: With a Silver plan, your premiums will be higher than a Bronze plan, but your deductibles and co-pays will be lower. Around 70% of your costs will be covered by Anthem if you have a Silver plan.
  • Gold: These plans have the highest monthly premiums and the lowest deductibles. Co-pays are also the lowest of other plans, and around 80% of your treatment costs should be covered by insurance.

If you have Anthem coverage, you might be able to access the Blue Cross Blue Shield network of providers around the country, giving you more choices in where you receive care.

There are also types of plans, including health maintenance organizations (HMOs), covering services from providers in-network only. If you have an HMO, you must choose a primary care doctor who refers you to specialists and coordinates your care.

A preferred provider organization (PPO) plan doesn’t require you to designate a primary care provider, but the costs will be lower if you go in-network.

Cedar Oaks Wellness Center is a leading rehab program, and we are in-network with Anthem.

Does Anthem Cover Drug Rehab?

Anthem insurance drug rehab coverage is available.

Anthem, which is part of the Blue Cross Blue Shield company, offers coverage benefits for addiction treatment and mental health services.

Your level of coverage depends on your plan, and your plan may limit how much time you can spend in a program, so you need to check to see what’s covered. You can check your benefits directly with the Anthem company by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.

You can also provide us with information about your insurance plan, and we can verify your coverage.

Many people are surprised to learn that most insurers, including not only Anthem, will cover some or all of their rehab costs. Insurers can be required to because parity laws exist in the United States. The Affordable Care Act also requires Marketplace plans include mental health and addiction treatment as essential benefits.

These laws are meant to ensure insurers cover mental health services in a similar way to physical health services.

If you’re looking for an Anthem drug rehab program, contact Cedar Oaks Wellness Center. We’re in the Cincinnati area and work to create tailored treatment plans individually so you can succeed in your recovery.

What Types of Treatment Will Insurance Cover?

If you have Anthem coverage, some of the particular types of rehab services that your plan may cover include:

  • Detoxification: During a medical detox, you’re embarking on the first phase of your treatment process. A medical detox keeps you safe and comfortable as you go through withdrawal. It may include medical supervision and certain medications if you need them.
  • Residential inpatient: Inpatient rehab includes living onsite in a structured environment. There’s a sense of tranquility and removal from your substance abuse environment, which helps to promote healing.
  • Partial hospitalization: These programs are called a PHP or a day program. They’re a hybrid between inpatient and outpatient rehab. You return home in the evenings and on the weekends but spend a full day in treatment, typically five days a week.
  • Medication-assisted treatment: Also known as MAT, there are medicines approved to help treat opioid and alcohol addiction and dependence. Your Anthem insurance may offer coverage for these medicines through your pharmacy benefits.

Cedar Oaks Wellness Center provides all of these levels of care, so reach out for details about our programs and what could be right for you or someone you love.

Finding A Rehab Center In-Network with Anthem

Cedar Oaks Wellness Center is in-network with Anthem if you’re looking for a treatment center that takes your insurance. So what does this mean?

  • In-network providers include facilities, labs, pharmacies, doctors, and hospitals contracted by a health plan so you can get care at lower rates.
  • A provider in your plan with Anthem might be called an in-network, preferred or participating provider.
  • Anthem carefully reviews the facilities in your network, ensuring they meet certain quality standards.
  • If you go to a contracted provider, they file claims for you and request pre-approvals if needed.

An out-of-network provider, by contrast, isn’t contracted with your health plan, and they can charge you whatever amount they want. It will generally be higher than what an in-network provider charges you.

If you go out-of-network, you’ll probably also have to file claims and request needed pre-approvals for care.
