Supporting Warren County: Cedar Oaks Wellness Sponsors the 43rd Annual Countryside YMCA Golf Outing

At Cedar Oaks Wellness, our commitment to healing extends far beyond the walls of our treatment center. We firmly believe that sustainable recovery, mental health, and personal well-being are deeply rooted in the strength of the surrounding community. That is why our team is proud to participate annually in the Countryside YMCA Golf Outing, a long-standing Warren County tradition that brings local organizations, families, and leaders together for a powerful cause.

This year marked the 43rd Annual Countryside YMCA Golf Outing Fundraiser, presented by Antioch Church and hosted at the prestigious Grizzly Golf Course in Mason, Ohio. As part of our ongoing dedication to local outreach, Cedar Oaks Wellness was honored not only to hit the green alongside community members but also to serve as an official hole sponsor for the event.

Community involvement is a core pillar of our mission. By supporting initiatives that foster physical health, youth development, and family stability, we help build a stronger, healthier environment for everyone in Warren County.

A Tradition of Giving Back: The 43rd Annual Countryside YMCA Golf Outing

For over four decades, the Countryside YMCA Golf Outing has been much more than a day of friendly athletic competition. It is a cornerstone fundraising event dedicated to strengthening the spirit, mind, and body of individuals and families throughout Mason, Cincinnati, and the greater Warren County region.

This year’s event brought golfers together at The Grizzly Golf Course, located at 6100 Legacy Park Way in Mason, OH. Participants gathered early in the morning for check-in, coffee, and donuts before taking part in an 8:00 AM shotgun start scramble. The day featured spirited competition, including contests for Closest-to-the-Pin and Longest Drive, followed by a celebratory community lunch provided by Tortilleria Garcia.

While the golf provided a fantastic opportunity for connection and camaraderie, the true success of the day lies in its financial and social impact. This annual fundraiser helps close critical funding gaps for non-profit programs that serve vulnerable populations across the county.

Every single dollar raised during the outing directly funds vital YMCA community outreach programs. These initiatives ensure that essential resources, youth mentorship, grief support, and wellness programs remain accessible to all residents, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Impacting Warren County: The Programs Funded by the Event

Sponsoring a hole and participating in the YMCA golf outing allows Cedar Oaks Wellness to directly invest in programs that touch every generation of our community. The funds raised from this annual event provide direct support for a wide range of impactful local initiatives:

  • Financial Assistance Program: Ensures that low-income families, seniors, and individuals can access health, wellness, and childcare services at the YMCA without cost being a barrier.
  • Blessed Respite & Kinship Care: Provides crucial support, relief, and resources for relative caregivers who have stepped up to raise children when biological parents are unable to do so.
  • Traveling Through Grief: Offers compassionate grief support and guidance for individuals navigating the profound emotional pain of losing a loved one.
  • Early Learners Literacy Program: Empowers young children with essential reading tools, foundational education, and early childhood learning resources to set them up for lifetime success.
  • Veterans Connect: Creates dedicated programming, social connections, and wellness support tailored specifically to the unique needs of military veterans and their families.
  • LiveSTRONG® at the YMCA: A specialized, zero-cost physical activity program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their physical strength, confidence, and emotional well-being during and after treatment.
  • Youth Ascend High Adventure Trips: Builds leadership skills, resilience, self-confidence, and teamwork in young people through structured outdoor adventure experiences.
  • Begin to Swim: Teaches life-saving water safety and swimming skills to local children, reducing the risk of accidental drownings in the community.

By standing alongside the Countryside YMCA and Antioch Church, Cedar Oaks Wellness helps ensure these life-changing services continue to thrive throughout Mason and Warren County.

Why Local Community Outreach Matters in Addiction Recovery

Substance use disorders and mental health challenges do not exist in a vacuum. A person’s environment, access to support networks, and community stability play massive roles in both addiction prevention and sustainable recovery.

When community organizations like the Countryside YMCA invest in youth literacy, grief counseling, family respite care, and recreational programs, they build a stronger safety net for families. Stronger families and supported youth mean fewer individuals falling through the cracks into isolation, trauma, and unmanaged mental health distress—factors that frequently lead to substance abuse.

Cedar Oaks Wellness remains deeply committed to participating in local events like the Countryside YMCA Golf Outing because we know that community wellness is addiction prevention. Supporting local outreach creates an environment where healing is possible, stigma is reduced, and individuals know where to turn when they need help.

We want to thank the Countryside YMCA, Antioch Church, The Grizzly Golf Course, and all the golfers, volunteers, and sponsors who made this year’s 43rd Annual Golf Outing a tremendous success. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the green next year!
