About Dr. Hoying
Dr. Jessica Hoying is a dual board-certified family medicine and addiction medicine physician and the Medical Director of Addiction Medicine and Mental Health at Cedar Oaks Wellness Center. Throughout her career, Dr. Hoying has been both a physician and a patient — a dual perspective that shapes how she approaches the healing process and connects with the people she treats. Her intention is to bring medicine back to its true purpose: focusing on the patient, combining traditional and holistic practices to find the root cause of each individual's challenges and improve their overall well-being, health, and longevity.
Dr. Hoying earned her medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2010 and completed her residency in Family Medicine through the Trident/MUSC Family Medicine Residency Program in 2013, with additional training in the Women's Health Track and hospital medicine. She holds a Master of Science in Anatomy from Wright State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, earned cum laude, from The Ohio State University.
Her career spans hospital medicine, primary care, and addiction medicine across South Carolina and Ohio. She has served as a hospitalist and physician administrator at institutions including the Medical University of South Carolina, Trident Medical Center, and Mercy Health, and worked in outpatient primary care in Charleston, SC and Mason, OH. Prior to joining Cedar Oaks, she served as Medical Director for BrightView Health's Fairfield and Mason, Ohio addiction medicine clinics from 2018 to 2023. She continues to serve as a physician at St. Joseph Home, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit providing medical care to individuals with complex disabilities, and as Medical Director/Primary Care Physician at Focus Health and Wellness in Mason, OH, where she integrates traditional and functional medicine.
Dr. Hoying is board certified in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine, with expertise treating patients with co-occurring diagnoses and substance use disorders of all types. She has over a decade of experience working with individuals with special needs and developmental disabilities, and is currently continuing her training with the Institute for Functional Medicine.
