Admissions FAQ

What are the steps of the admissions process?

Prospective clients/family members or support persons contact COW. COW assigns a dedicated admissions person to their intake, the admissions team will coordinate their insurance verification, pre-screen and medical approval for intake.

 

Does Cedar Oaks Wellness Center accept insurance?

Yes, we are currently in-network with several insurance carriers and the list is growing, contact an admissions specialist for more details.

 

 

Is Cedar Oaks Wellness Center accredited?

CARF Certified for Detox, Residential and SUD PHP as well as Mental Health Day Treatment.

Do you offer financial assistance?

Clients may request payment plans and financial hardships.

What are your private pay costs?

The financial team considers finances and circumstances when working with self-pay clients, for up to date rates please contact a member of the admissions teams.

 

 

 

How is Cedar Oaks Wellness Center different from other programs?

Cedar Oaks is a personalized treatment program, with dedicated clinical, medical and ancillary team members assigned to meet the client where they are in their recovery journey.

 

 

 

 

What do I bring to rehab?

Clothing and personal items. Books/Magazines/Puzzles 

 

 

 

Are my family members or friends allowed to visit?

Currently onsite visits are not re-open, however we do permit virtual visits and family engagement. 

 

 

 

What if my loved one is not ready for treatment but needs it?

Strong support networks are one of the keys to a successful treatment and recovery. Start the conversation today, even if it may take time to get them to agree to treatment.

 

 

 

 

What happens if I have a pending legal issue?

COW has case management services that can assist in coordinating with the courts/legal concerns.

 

 

 

 

What happens if I need to travel for treatment?

Clients attend Cedar Oaks from around the county, if travel is needed our admissions team can assist with the coordination, and onsite transportation is also available through our team.

 

 

 

 

 

Will my job know I am going to treatment?

Cedar Oaks only releases information that you request to be released in writing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

What do I tell my employer I am going to treatment?

As much or as little as you choose, Addiction and Mental Health treatment are diagnoses which are covered through FMLA therefore we will communicate with your permission with the HR directly at your company, releasing the minimum amount of information required for your leave of absence. 

 

 

 

 

 

Clinical FAQ

What therapies do you provide?

DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, Person Centered

 

 

How often do clients attend therapy?

Group therapy for residential and detox is daily for 6 hours/ day. PHP/Mental Health Day Treatment is 6 hours/ day for 5-6 days/ week. Individual therapy is one 60 minute session per week.

 

 

 

Is this a 12-Step or SMART Recovery program?

Support Group services are offered as an elective and in addition to clinical programming.

 

 

 

 

Is there 24/7 on-site medical care?

Yes, nurses are on-site 24/7 and a provider is on call 24/7.

 

 

 

 

 

What is the difference between outpatient and inpatient?

Inpatient is where the client lives on campus and is provided 24/7 support by the treatment team. This is the highest level of care outside of hospitalization. The purpose of this level of care is a controlled environment to provide stabilization, to prepare the client for the next level of care. Outpatient is where the client’s live at home or in supportive housing and commute to treatment. The purpose of this level of care is to provide the client support and healing while learning to live in their own environment.

What aftercare programs do you provide?

We collaborate with other providers all over the country to support client’s from any location.

Do you have an alumni program? What does that entail?

We do have an alumni program that gets together once a month to connect and share hopeful messages to current clients; and also once a quarter is an alumni event that’s a celebratory social event, as well as a place to reconnect with each other.

How long is detoxification?

Each person’s detox process is different. It depends on specific details about the person withdrawaling such as their age, overall health, what they are using, how much and long they have been using, as well as other co-occurring medical conditions. The average length of stay in a detox level of care will vary according to the individual’s needs.

How long can I expect to be in treatment?

Each person’s care is individualized. Treatment length is a collaborative approach including the following factors; clinical recommendations, insurance authorizations, and client input.

Is my treatment confidential?

Everything that is discussed to treatment providers at Cedar Oaks is completely confidential. Cedar Oaks follows HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines regarding the sharing of confidential information. Cedar Oaks uses a treatment team approach, so team members will share client information to treatment team providers with the goal of serving the client and providing the highest quality of care.

How many times a week will I receive individual therapy?

Individual therapy occurs weekly.

How will my family participate in treatment?

A families involvement in a client’s treatment is an individual decision between the client and their counselor. The involvement of family can be highly beneficial to a person seeking services.

Is there a Psychiatrist on staff?

Board Certified Psychiatrist, Dr. Emad Alshami, is our medical director and staff psychiatrist that provides services to all Cedar Oaks clients directly or via nurse practitioner, Rachel Thatcher.

Facility FAQ

What do the bedrooms include? (private, TV’s, etc)

Cedar Oaks has multiple types of housing throughout the center, both private and semi-private rooms. Each house has a TV/DVD player.

What amenities does your facility have?

Hiking trails, recreation activities, Art Room

Am I allowed to use technology (phones or laptops) while in the program?

During Detox no technology is permitted while you are healing, during residential programming there is allocated times for cell phones/laptops.

Is smoking or vaping allowed at Cedar Oaks Wellness Center?

Yes, in designated areas.

Will I have a roommate?

Depends on the room selected/Level of Care 

Do I need to bring my current prescriptions with me?

Yes.

 

 

 

 

Am I allowed to bring books or magazines with me?

Yes.

 

 

 

What if I have a business call for work?

Coordination for working professionals can be made through your clinical team.

Will I have access to money or my wallet while I am in treatment?

Clients place their cards on file for access to the stores, cash is kept in a safe.

Is housing co-ed or gender specific?

Gender Specific.

Can I bring my pet with me?

No.

Do clients get to leave the facility/are there outings?

Depends on the Level of Care.
