A prominent family physician, Dr. Jessica Hoying, understands the value of exceeding patients’ needs when they require medical attention. That is why she fosters a patient and family-centered atmosphere, backed by award-winning care. Throughout her career, Dr. Hoying has been both a physician and a patient which gives her a unique perspective of the healing process. She has seen all aspects of healthcare. Her intention is to bring medicine back to its true intention of focusing on the patient. Combining traditional and holistic practices to achieve the best outcome for each individual. She will help find the root cause of patients’ challenges and improve their overall well-being, health, and longevity.

Dr. Hoying received her medical degree from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2010 and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina/Trident Medical Center program in 2013. She also holds a Master’s of Science in Anatomy from Wright State University and a Bachelor’s in Science in Biology from the Ohio State University.

 

In her professional experience, Dr. Hoying has worked at many hospital facilities as a hospital medicine physician and administrator including Medical University of South Carolina, Trident Medical Center, and the Mercy Health System. She also worked at outpatient primary care clinics at Medical University of South Carolina, Trident Medical Center, and Mason, OH. She has experience with patients with special needs and has over a decade of experience with this population at Coastal Center, many group homes in South Carolina and St. Josephs Home in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition, she is Boarded in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine and has expertise in treating patients with multiple different diagnoses and substance use disorders of all types. Dr. Hoying is also training with the Institute of Functional Medicine. She is compassionate and caring to all.

Addiction Medicine is concerned with the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of persons with the disease of addiction, of those with substance-related health conditions, and of people who show unhealthy use of substances including nicotine, alcohol, prescription medications and other licit and illicit drugs. Physicians in this subspecialty also help family members whose health and functioning are affected by a loved one’s substance use or addiction.
